POISON IVY

Poison "ivy" rash is caused by contact with oil from the Rhus family of plants (poison oak, ivy, and sumac.) The oil can be contacted directly from the plant or from an object that has oil on its surface. The rash usually appears 1-4 days after contact with the oil.

If you think you have contacted the oil, wash the area with warm soapy water. If the rash has appeared, try a 1% hydrocortisone cream twice a day to help decrease the itch. If the rash involved the eyes, face or genitals have your child seen. Poison ivy rash, while not dangerous, can be miserable.

REMINDER
Effective January 1, 2010 a $10 re-bill fee will be assesed each month to all accounts 30 days or more past due.
